Berkeley
The Berkeley style is a full leather Chelsea boot construction with a calf leather and suede combination upper on a low heel. All boots are handmade in limited quantities and the Berkeley style is initially released in Bordeaux leather and suede.
The soles are blake stitched and the uppers are lined in soft calf leather. Both are produced in dark green that is the hallmark of DP James boots.
Another of Mayfair’s great squares, Berkeley Square was created in the late 1600s and the current layout dates to 1733. Berkeley Square was home to such residents as Winston Churchill and Robert Clive of India. In the late 19th century number 50 Berkeley Square became known as one of the most haunted houses in London. Berkeley Square’s fame comes above all from the wartime song ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square’, recorded by Vera Lynn, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, and countless others.
