David Preston has been designing footwear since 2009.  After taking a break from his former company, he has returned to his passion for designing footwear with a new venture – DP James.

David is a musician with an eye for detail and design. His previous company proved successful with celebrities and the public with equal enthusiasm. Clients have included members of internationally successful bands, as well as notable actors, sportsmen and models.

Born in Scotland and raised in Australia, David has called London home for more than 20 years and has a passion for the city and its inspirational history. The DP James collection celebrates and draws from this cultural wealth. 

Working as a musician and qualified nurse, David’s move into footwear has been a rich and rewarding process — one that has required him to learn every element of the shoe business from scratch. It has been for him a pursuit of great devotion and delight, and he is proud to share the fruits of his passion with other discerning footwear fans.
